.: Easter Ross Support Service

Easter Ross Support Team

The Easter Ross service manager, Stephen Dunphy, and team of support workers, are based in Invergordon – providing accommodation-based support throughout Easter Ross. Most of our service users are currently based in Invergordon, Tain, Alness and Dingwall.

The Easter Ross Support Service opened in 1994, and initially the team worked out of the County Hospital at Invergordon. This changed in the summer of 2005 when they moved into their new office accommodation at 108B High Street, Invergordon.

What We Provide

We have contracts with Highland Council to provide Housing Support and other services (see below – What Support Workers Do). Most of the people we work with in Easter Ross have a mental health problem. Birchwood Highland has many years of experience in working with people who have a severe and enduring mental illness.

How to Refer to Our Service

If someone wants and needs the service, then it is usually the local Community Mental Health Service (a community psychiatric nurse or a social worker) who will let us know.

We don’t have our own special referral form, but we expect the referrer to give us “single shared assessment” documentation to help us get started in planning support for a service user.

In our service we provide both housing support services (outlined below) and home care services
