.: About Us

Birchwood Highland, a voluntary organisation with charitable status, offers support to people with mental health problems, dementia, a learning disability, or problems with addiction.

Since our establishment in 1987, we have continually developed our services to meet the changing needs of people with mental ill health, focusing around the ethos of recovery.

We have led the way in setting up the first Recovery Centre in the Highlands, formally opened in March 2008 by Shona Robison MSP, Minister for Public Health.

Our housing support and care teams are located in Inverness, Invergordon, Wick and Fort William. If someone needs our services, it is usually the community mental health services that let us know.

For information on how to apply for home care services or admission to Birchwood Highland Recovery Centre, please click here (pdf file).
